Types of woodwind instruments

Among the diverse musical instruments, woodwinds scores atop the list. Being designed with hollow tubes they can be blown at one end to generate sound. Almost all these wind musical instrument has fingerholes and keys which generates different pitch and sound effects. The different deigns and patterns of these wind instruments generate sounds at diverse levels.



Piccolo is one kind of wind instrument which has its pitching octave beyond the standard flute composition level. It ranges with three octaves and hits the higher pitch adding special effects when played in orchestra and musical bands. They are most generally utilised in musical concerts and playing this piccolo instrument is more common like the flute. This instrument is most typically created of wooden and the first one to use this instrument was Beethoven's Fifth Symphony.

Flute is one of the most fundamental woodwind instruments that serve the musical world by generating cheerful music. Basically flutes are created out of metal that has tubes attached to the mouthpiece at one end. The flute is hold horizontally and air pressure is passed through the oval holes. Whilst air pressure is passed, the flutist levers the keys present on the flute. Even though the keys are pressed and released, the musical hole opens and closes. This helps in generating diverse musical range at distinct musical notes. The flutes are most usually used in western music and they have its origin from China.

English horn is the other kind of woodwind instrument which is a unit of oboe family. The design of this instrument is more alike the oboe and they are usually played by third oboe player in the musical bands and orchestra.

The cost of the flute will range anywhere about $350 which is nickel-silver made and they are further coated in silver. Clarinet usually ranges about $350 whereas the saxophone is little huge in cost ranging about $1000 and are made out of brass.
